Clarifying the label

The Label does certify the trustworthiness of a digital service in line with the label catalogue.
However, the label is

• not a guarantee: providing 100% assurance isn’t possible
• not a normative statement: the label denotes the trustworthiness based on the label catalogue, not whether a digital service should be used or not. This decision is up to the customer. However, the label empowers the user to make an informed decision
• not set in stone: as technology progresses so must the label. The label catalogue and other resources will be continuously updated
